Behavioural and lifestyle changes are very important for your pelvic health.

Certain behaviours and lifestyle habits, such as being overweight, constipation, chronic coughing, smoking and high-impact activities (involving jumping), exacerbate the leakage of urine, gas and stool, as well as genital prolapse. Certain bladder irritants can also contribute to increased urinary urgency and leakage. Other poor lifestyle habits or behaviours may accentuate the symptoms of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).

The goal of these lifestyle changes is to reduce the adverse effects on the pelvic floor muscles, bladder and/or vulvovaginal tissues. They are essential in order to reduce symptoms.
